About the Top 100 |
|
| The Beginning |
|
When we first put
RealEstate ABC on the web, there was a company called hitbox.com that
measured traffic and ranked sites in various categories. One of
those categories was real estate. We felt this was a cool idea, so
we decided to create a specialized real estate Top 100 and include
various sub-categories. |

Before we got our Top 100
programmed, another real estate site had a similar idea and beat us to the
punch with a pretty decent program (which bummed us out). However,
they only had one category and we felt we had something different to offer
-- so we went ahead. |

Since then there have been
LOTS of real estate sites initiate Top 100 programs. |
|
| Keep it
simple..."KISS" |
|
Location, name, web site
address and a "hot" link is all we include in our Top 100. We felt
that additional information often creates a reason NOT to click on the
link. So we keep it simple. |

| How many have
applied to join? |
|
One thousand eight hundred
seventy-nine have applied as of July, 2002. That really isn't a lot. |
|
| How many
active members participate? |
|
We constantly "cull"
non-performing sites, some people don't know how to put up the HTML code
and graphic, and some drop off when they go through a web site redesign or
change web hosts and forget to carry along their Top 100 graphic. In
all the categories together, we have just over 900 active current members. |
