How the Top 100 Works
- Each Top 100 member has special HTML code they
need to place on the main page of their web site.
- This code generates a Top 100 graphic that
"looks" the same as the others, but is different.
- This special version of the graphic, though it
appears on your site, is stored in our web server.
- Every time someone new visits your site, the
image is "pulled" from our server to appear on your web page.
- Since we can count how many times this happens,
we know how many new visitors you have had.
- That information goes into a temporary database
ranking your site in relation to the other Top 100 participants in your
category.
- The more visitors you receive the higher you rank
on the list.
- At midnight each night, all the sites are reset
to zero and the rankings begin again for that day.
