Top 100 Graphic Placement |
| |
| Main Page |
|
The Top 100 graphic must be
placed in a visible place on the "main" page of the site. For most sites,
the "main" page is the same as the "home" page -- but not always.
The "main" page must also be a part of your web site's navigation menu. |
| |
| "Splash" Pages |
|
Splash pages are usually
just an introductory page that leads into the site. You can put the
graphic there if you want, but it also has to be on the "main" page of the
web site. |
| |
| How many click on the
graphic? |
|
Less than one percent of
those who see it. For those of you who are irrationally frightened
of losing visitors, very few visitors click on a link or graphic until
they have fully explored your site to their satisfaction. |
| |
| Where on the Page? |
|
For the most part, we don't
really care if it is the top or the bottom of the page. However, if
your page is really long, it must be within the first three clicks on the
right-hand scroll bar. Also, large blank spaces between the body of
your page and the graphic are not allowed. Finally, if you have a
"plethora" of other site's graphics on the page, don't "clump" ours
together with them. |
| |
| Multiple Pages |
|
Placing the graphic on
multiple pages should not really increase your rankings. However, we
allow it. |
| |
| Multiple Top 100 Graphics
on the same page |
| Not allowed. Period.
You can place our other graphics on the same page, though it isn't
something we really expected people to do, but only one Top 100 graphic. |
